My wife said I stink. I couldn’t believe that after 20 years of marriage she would talk to me like that. We had a huge fight and some things were said. So I couldn’t even sleep in my own bed. I made up the couch and sat down. I was exhausted at this point, not only from the days work but also from the fight. Then I took off my shoes. I smelled it. It was my feet. They smelled like bourbon. I had to make the choice to stop drinking bourbon and make up with my wife or to take up permanent residence on my couch. Of course, you know what I did! I put on my new “my feet smell like bourbon” socks and bought a softer couch.
